April 2011 Neonatal clinic with Dr. Cheryl Dewitt
Dr. Cheryl DeWitt of Camelid Veterinary Service in Ohio, visited Island Alpaca Farm this and last April, 2010 to conduct a full-day seminar for alpaca and other livestock breeders, other veterinarians, and staff members. March 2011 Alpaca Visit Boston State House
Island Alpaca climbed Beacon Hill March 22, to the Boston State House to welcome guests for the Governor's Reception and to attend the Massachusetts 24th Annual Governor's Conference on Travel and Tourism, Leadership Summit, the following day. Both events were a huge success thanks to the efforts of many conference sponsors, and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism, in particular Dagny Ashley, the conference coordinator. On Saturday, May 8, at 6:30 pm Island Alpaca welcomed their first-born, a healthy 15.6 pound boy. The sire is our own, CT Estrada, and the dam, Margeaux. view photo album

This year, Island Alpaca Hosted a "Business After Hours" event at our farm along with Gina Stanley of the Art Cliff Diner, who so generously provided the delectables.
We were very thrilled to introduce our farm and our prized herd to the community!

May 2009 Island Alpaca Cria
With a great deal of excitement, on cloudy Saturday afternoon, we found Island Alpaca "Margeaux" acting a bit unusual...Much to our surprise, she was going into labor. Based on our breeding dates, we had anticipated "Luna" to be the first alpaca to give birth this year. Please welcome "Margeaux's" first cria, a light gray, female cria, not yet named! view photo album
